Rock The River in Ottawa

The Antidote headed to Ottawa this past weekend for a pair of reasons.

  • To visit Rock The River, an annual Christian music event held each year in Ottawa. Rock The River 2013 had a great line up including: Da’ T.R.U.T.H., Prosper & GPM, The City Harmonic, and the head liner, Thousand Foot Krutch.
  • To meet with a friend, David Leibold, host of Over My Head which airs Sunday mornings at 8 on CKCU 93.1 FM. David sent an offer for me (Dave) to join him on air.

Rock The River is an annual event supported by many of the churches in the National Capital region. 2012’s Rock The River was a two day festival held at Britannia Park in Ottawa. Some of the headliners included Matt Maher, The Afters, Michael W. Smith, Canton Jones, Lacey from Flyleaf, Thousand Foot Krutch, and The Almost.

This years even was originally scheduled for Britannia park, but was switched to the Metropolitan Bible Church due to concerns about the weather. Even this enormous facility was no match for the 2,000 plus attendees. After filling both the main auditorium and the over-flow gymnasium, the balance of the crowd settled in outside the building for the live audio feed supplied by CHRI 99.1FM.

Here’s a few pics from last Saturday’s concert.
