About The Antidote

The Antidote, best in syndication winner at Canada’s NCRA 2018 radio awards.

“Christian music that doesn’t suck”.  This indelicate title has been given to The Antidote Radio, whose intention is to dispel the myth that music created by artists who share a Christian world-view is second rate.

Each episode of The Antidote explores the art of music through the creativity of a variety of musicians. Many of the artists heard on this programme could be considered “under the radar” and are not typically heard on traditional radio stations. Other artists have found success in the music industry and are very well known. The common trait between all these bands and solo performers is that they are creating an artistic statement through their music.

Highlighted artists are those who create a unique sound and excel in their respective genre. Many episodes feature a single artist and we spend time conversing with them about their craft and examining their music.

The Antidote covers a wide spectrum of genres found within the world of music. Styles of music range from indie folk, punk, rock, alternative rock, hip hop, funk, ska, and all the sub-genres of metal.

The Antidote first hit the airwaves on Trent Radio 92.7 FM, CFFF, Peterborough, Ontario in September of 2011. The Antidote airs each Wednesday night at 9 PM ET on Trent Radio. Friday and Saturday nights at 9PM ET through Z Radio The Mix and Saturday’s at 10 PM Pacific  through the Effect Radio network.
